Body found after pair charged with murdering missing woman

Police have found a body amid an investigation into the murder of a missing woman from the West Midlands.

Julia Rawson, 42, has not been seen since she disappeared from her home in Dudley on 12 May.

Specialist officers searching for Ms Rawson say they discovered the body in the Tipton area, north east of Dudley, on Wednesday.

In a statement on Sunday, West Midlands Police said formal identification of the body was underway, and that a post-mortem would be carried out "in due course".

It added: "Julia's family have been kept up to date with the development."

Police initially launched a search operation after Ms Rawson was reported missing, but it later developed into a murder probe leading to the arrests of two men - Nathan Maynard Ellis, 28, and David Leesley, 23.

Both men were charged with Ms Rawson's murder and appeared in court on 27 May.

They have both been remanded in custody.
