Body found in search for missing Chesterfield man, police have confirmed

Police have found a body in the search for a missing man from Chesterfield. The body was discovered by officers on High Tor, Matlock, at around 12.45pm on Saturday, November 16.

Formal identification has not yet been carried out but the body is thought to be that of Shaun, a 65-year-old man reported missing from Chesterfield.

Shaun was last seen around a week ago and was believed to have travelled to Matlock in recent days, with his phone found on High Tor on Thursday, November 14.

Shaun was known to travel frequently by bus to the Matlock area where he liked to walk.

The man's family have been made aware of the circumstances, and police say there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death. Derbyshire police say they are preparing a file for the coroner.

A spokesperson for Derbyshire police said: "His family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time."
