Body found in search for missing woman, 28, on Scots island

A body has been found in search for missing Shanahan MacInnes.

Shanahan, from the Isle of Benbecula, was last seen at around 1.30am on Friday, November 22 in the Tindill Road area of Balivanich.

Police said they were extremely concerned for the 28-year-old and launched a frantic search.

Officers have now confirmed a body, believed to be Shanahan, was found at round 1.05pm on Sunday, 24 November in the Aird area of Benbecula.

Formal identification has still to take place, however her family have been has been made aware. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
