Police Confirm Tali Lennox's Boyfriend Drowned

A body found in the Hudson River is that of Tali Lennox's boyfriend, Ian Jones, a medical examiner has confirmed.

Mr Jones' body was found on Monday in the river near Poughkeepsie Yacht Club.

The 32-year-old photographer was kayaking north of New York City with Miss Lennox when they capsized on Saturday morning.

Miss Lennox, the daughter of singer Annie Lennox, was rescued by a passing boat after the accident.

A post-mortem examination found that Mr Jones' death was "consistent with drowning", the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office said.

"The search for Mr Jones has now officially ended, and at this time his death is considered to be an accidental drowning with no criminal charges expected," the sheriff's office said.

Results from a toxicology tests will not be known for several weeks.

Marine patrols and dive teams were involved in the search, along with a New York State Police helicopter and numerous officers on foot and in boats.

Miss Lennox wrote on Instagram on Monday night: "My heart is shattered. My best friend, my soul mate, my partner in crime & creativity, the LOVE & LIGHT of my life is no longer with me.

"All the love that has been sent to me is giving me the strength to get through this. I know that he is so so happy that I was safely rescued. Let us honor & celebrate this beautiful soul & keep following the light."

Police said the river current was very strong and the pair were not wearing life jackets.

Miss Lennox, a model and artist, also uses the surname Fruchtmann after her filmmaker father Uri. She has a sister called Lola.
