Chalk cliffs at Seaford collapsed twice in less than 24 hours sending tons of rock crashing into the sea.

A spokesman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue said they were called at 1422 to reports a person had fallen from a cliff in the Seven Sisters Country Park.

"Two fire engines from Newhaven and Eastbourne were sent to the scene along with officers and the Bexhill and Battle rope rescue units.

"Coastguard and Sussex Police were also in attendance."

Earlier the Coastguard  also issued an urgent appeal asking for a woman in a pink top last seen at Seaford Head to make herself known before police reported she had been found safe and well.

"We've received conflicting reports from our 999 callers and we need to establish that everybody is safe and accounted for and that no one is missing in this recent fall," the Coastguard said.
