Body found in wooded area in search for missing Scots teen

A body has been discovered in the search for a missing teen. Jamie Lyons was reported missing from Kirkcaldy on Sunday, September 29.

Officers found the body in woodlands off Oriel Road in the town on Monday at around 4.20pm. Formal identification has yet to take place but the family 19-year-old Jamie have been informed.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A family member posted on social media asking locals in the town to come to the woods off Oriel Road this afternoon to help with the search operation.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 4.20pm on Monday, 30 September, the body of a man was found in a wooded area in the Oriel Road area of Kirkcaldy.

"Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of Jamie Lyons, 19, reported missing from the town on Sunday, 29 September, have been made aware.

"There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
