The body of a man has been found at Seaton Sluice after a Northumbria Police search at the beach.
Police first responded at 9am on Monday after receiving a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Seaton Sluice area of Northumberland.
Emergency services attended the scene, where, following a search and enquiries, the body was discovered. His next of kin have been informed.
There are currently believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man's death, and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "At 9am today (Monday), we received a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Seaton Sluice Beach area of Northumberland.
"Emergency services are in attendance."
Later this afternoon, the Northumbria Police spokesperson added: "At 9am today, we received a report of concern for the welfare of a man in the Seaton Sluice Beach area of Northumberland.
"Emergency services attended and sadly, following search enquiries, the body of a man was discovered. His next of kin have been informed.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding the man’s death and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
