Body of student found on Robert Gordon University campus with family 'being supported'
A student has been found dead at a university in Aberdeen.
Emergency services raced to the Garthdee Road area at Robert Gordon University after the alarm was raised at around 10.15am on Wednesday. Officers were responding to reports of the sudden death of a 19-year-old woman.
Ambulance crews attended but the teenager was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is currently being treated as unexplained and police say their enquiries are ongoing. The university said it has provided students with a number of support services following the devastating news.

Statement from Audrey Nicoll MSP said: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of a student found in the grounds of RGU earlier this week. This will come as a shock to everyone who knew her and I extend my thoughts and heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, and everyone who knew her at the RGU campus.
"As a former staff member at RGU I know the University will be ensuring anyone impacted by this tragic loss will be offered the support they need”.
A spokesperson for Robert Gordon University said: "RGU can sadly confirm that the body of a student was found on its campus this morning. The university is liaising with the emergency services and is supporting the student's family as well as the entire university community. This is a very sad situation and our thoughts are with the student's family and friends."
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Garthdee Road, Aberdeen around 10.15am on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 following the sudden death of a 19-year-old woman. Next of kin have been made aware. Her death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
