The Bold Type, Freeform's comedy-drama centring around the publication of a global women's magazine, has been renewed for a fifth season.
The bad news, however, is that the fifth season will also be the show's last.
Created by Sarah Watson, the series follows best friends Kat (Aisha Dee), Sutton (Meghann Fahy), and Jane (Katie Stevens) as they work together to produce each issue of their global women's magazine, Scarlet.
The series is inspired by the life of long-time magazine editor and executive Joanna Coles, who serves as an executive producer on the show.
The fifth and final season will consist of just six episodes. That's a shorter run than usual for the show, with the series' first three seasons containing 10 episodes each and season 4 featuring 16 instalments.
Alongside the core cast members, Nikohl Boosheri will also return as Adena El-Amin for the final season, which is expected to air later this year.
The cast details were announced in a live-streamed table read for season 5, which you can watch at the top.
The fourth season of The Bold Type came to an end last summer, having been cut short due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Despite that, it still managed to pack in the drama, leaving fans with a major cliffhanger.
The Bold Type is available on Freeform and Amazon Prime Video.
