Bolsonaro Supporter Camp Dismantled in Rio de Janeiro

A camp set up by supporters of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro was dismantled on Monday, January 9, in Rio de Janeiro without arrests, local media reported.

Footage recorded by Wenceslau Neto shows the camp at around 11 am local time on Monday, and then at around 3:30 pm.

The camp had been established outside the Palacio Duque de Caxias, the headquarters of the Brazilian Eastern Military Command.

Local media reported that the dismantling of the camp came following an order from the Supreme Court.

No arrests were made, though the report said that at least one photographer had been attacked by a Bolsonaro supporter.

Also on Monday, at least 1,200 people were detained during the dismantling of a similar camp in Brasilia. Credit: Wenceslau Neto via Storyful
