As the release date for No Time to Die – the eagerly anticipated next chapter within the James Bond franchise – draws ever closer, fans are desperate to learn all they can about the 25th instalment before it reaches cinemas.

Daniel Craig is set to return as the iconic MI6 agent in the Cary Joji Fukunaga-directed picture and this new image of the actor during production sees the character all roughed up after a fight on the streets of Matera, Italy.

In the photograph, Craig can be seen sporting a bloodied face but somehow still manages to look suave in his blue shirt, sand-coloured linen trousers, braces and dark sunglasses.

The 51-year-old has been spotted shooting scenes with co-star Lea Seydoux in recent days.

Since filming began at the end of last year, the movie has shot in several locations all over the world including the UK, Norway and Jamaica.

Also starring Bond favourites Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes, No Time to Die welcomes newcomers including Captain Marvel's Lashana Lynch, Blade Runner 2049 actress Ana de Armas, Game Night's Billy Magnussen and Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek into the fold.

It is set to focus on a 007 whose quiet life away from active service comes to an abrupt end when his old CIA pal Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) involves him in a dangerous mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist.

While Malek is cited to be the movie's main antagonist, it was confirmed earlier this month that Christoph Waltz will also reprise his role as Spectre villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

No Time to Die will be released in the UK on April 3, 2020 and in the US on April 8, 2020.
