Bonfire Night and firework events around Birmingham and the West Midlands 2024

Get your wellies out and your woollies on, it's time to ooh and aah at the sky at night. Yes, Bonfire Night is nearly upon us. This year, November 5 falls on a Tuesday so many events are taking place either the weekend before or after.

Either way, there are some pretty spectacular displays planned around Birmingham and the West Midlands. You can enjoy enormous bonfires, light shows, fireworks, cosy food and drink and fairgrounds.

This guide has all the details you need to know about events happening across Birmingham, Solihull the Black Country and Worcestershire. Most require tickets so it's best to check in advance rather than trying to just turn up at the gate. Edgbaston Stadium

More than 600 drones are set to light the city skies as part of the 'Evolution’ drone show – a first of its kind display to be shown in Birmingham. The traditional fireworks at Edgbaston Stadium will be replaced with a light show to take audiences on 'a mesmerising journey through time and space'.

Designed by Celestial, the narrated story will start with the Big Bang and and course through time to modern day with changeable, colourful LED lights. Taking place on Saturday, October 26, the gates open at 5.30pm, with food and drink stalls serving refreshments while a live DJ plays ahead of the show starting at 7.30pm. Solihull Round Table Fireworks

The Solihull Round Table Fireworks 2024 features a 20-minute professional fireworks display, a bonfire, and a fun-filled atmosphere for families. There will be hot food and drinks on offer plus a funfair with rides and games for all ages.

Organised by volunteers, all the profits go to local charities. It takes place at Tudor Grange Park on Saturday, November 2 from 4.30pm to 9.30pm. Find out more and book tickets here

Himley Hall and Park Bonfire and Fireworks

This year's Himley Hall bonfire event has a 'Splash of Colour' theme as the sky will be 'painted like a rainbow to a soundtrack of songs with colour in the title'. Think Brown Eyed Girl and Purple Rain.

Taking place on Saturday, November 2, this is said to be the largest local authority run event in the UK. It features a 30-minute fireworks display choreographed to music, a giant fun fair, live entertainment including a Heart radio presenter and large screens to bring the theme to life.

Wolverhampton 'Paint the Sky' Fireworks

Wolverhampton’s annual fireworks display promises to 'Paint the sky' in displays crafted by two-time British Fireworks Champions Komodo Fireworks. Taking place on Friday, November 1 at West Park, there are two displays - one for children that is choreographed to music and has 'less bangs for delicate ears'.

Then there's the main display, again choreographed to some of the biggest hits, where 'every firework will dance in time to the beat and light the night sky'. Families can also enjoy a fun fair, food, bar and live music. A ‘Now I’m Here – Queen tribute band’ will be on stage until 10pm. Kings Heath Cricket and Sports Club Bonfire Night

The Kings Heath Cricket and Sports Club Bonfire Night event takes place on Sunday, November 10. You can get early bird discounted tickets if you book before October 19.

Gates open at 4.30pm and there will be fireworks, a bar, DJ and fairground. Find out more here

Kings Norton RF Club Bonfire and Firework Spectacular

Kings Norton RF Club's bonfire event takes place on Saturday, November 9. Gates open at 5.30pm, there will be a bouncy castle and slide and children’s entertainer from 6pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and there will be fireworks at 7.30pm followed by a live band at 8pm. You can also enjoy a BBQ and bar. The event is raising money for junior rugby. Advance tickets only, none available on the night. Find out more via the Facebook page here

Tamworth Castle Grounds Fireworks Spectacular

The Tamworth Castle Grounds Fireworks Spectacular is back for 2024 and is once again free with no tickets required. This year's fireworks will be set to music 'through the decades’, lighting up the skies above Tamworth.

Taking place on Saturday, November 2, gates open at 5pm where you can enjoy a fun fair and food and drink stalls ahead of the fireworks at 7pm.

Organised by Tamworth Borough Council, the event has become a firm favourite in the town’s annual calendar of events pulling in around 25,000 visitors in previous years, so please allow ample time for travel and parking to make the most of this event. Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club's Bonfire Night

Sutton Coldfield Rugby Club's annual Bonfire Night event is taking place on Tuesday, November 5. Gates open at 5.30pm and the bonfire will be lit around 6.30pm followed by a fireworks display at 7.30pm.

Alton Towers Ultimate Fireworks Spectacular

Alton Towers Resort's Bonfire Night events are so big they are held over three dates! Always popular with Midlanders, people have started travelling from further afield to attend this display, according to the theme park bosses.

This year's event takes place from Friday, November 8 to Sunday, November 10. The event also offers a final chance to enjoy the resort's rollercoasters, rides and family attractions it closes for the season.

Redditch Cricket, Hockey, Rugby and Squash Club Firework Display

The Redditch bonfire event takes place on Friday November 1 at Redditch Cricket, Hockey, Rugby and Squash Club. Once again there will be two fireworks displays, an out side DJ, food and fairground rides.

Hopfest on Fire in Bewdley

Hopfest on Fire is returning to Hopleys family campsite in Bewdley on Saturday, November 2. Running from 4pm to 10pm, there will be a bonfire, fireworks display, live local music, street food, local ales, face painting and even a silent disco.

Hosted the the campsite's Rustic Kitchen, there will be food in the restaurant itself plus a large marquee for plenty of cover if needed. You can also book camping for the weekend. Find out more and book tickets via the Hopleys Camping website.

Churchfields Family Fireworks Festival 2023

Churchfields Farm in Droitwich is hosting a 'Low Noise' fireworks display on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3. Always a sell-out, this event is said to be 'perfect for families with young children'.

People can arrive mid-afternoon to enjoy the farm facilities and some circus entertainment and special guests before the fireworks themselves. There’s plenty of warm drinks and hot dogs to fuel the fun too.

Gates open at 3pm, then there's circus skills with The Shooting Stars Circus Academy at 3.30pm, a meet and greet with The Doorstep Princesses at 5pm, a Fire Show from Shooting Stars Circus at 6.15pm and the fireworks display will begin at 6.45pm each evening.

Lichfield Fireworks Display

Lichfield Fireworks Display takes place on Friday, November 1 at the Lichfield Golf and Country Club. There will be a bar and food from The English Indian, The Handmade Pizza Co and Fat Snags plus a bouncy castle, face painting and a glow stall.
