There are many viral TikTok beauty sensations that we can take or leave (using lube as primer anyone?), but the latest craze is something we're seriously into.
The product behind the current hype? This Boots Vitamin C Brightening Moisturising Cream which is an unbelievable £4.
Not only is it affordable, but it has been given the thumbs up by qualified aesthetician Monique Monrowe, otherwise known as Skinfiltrator who has nearly 120k TikTok followers (but her video praising the Boots moisturiser was seen by nearly 400,000 people).
On the Boots website, this gem of a product has garnered nothing below a four or five-star rating, which is almost unheard of.
Here's why it's worth adding to basket, pronto.
Why we rate it
Of course the bargain price is a serious draw, but there's no point even spending a small amount on something that's not going to work for you.
But the Boots Vitamin C Brightening Moisturising Cream has some great ingredients that pack a punch and which make it worth way more than its seriously affordable price point.
Promising to give you brighter skin in 14 days (yes please!) the light-textured cream is also nourishing.
One of its powerful combos of ingredients is Vitamin C and YUZU extract which offer potent antioxidant properties. If used regularly this can reduce inflammation-based ageing from free radicals, helps even your skin tone and improve its texture, boosts radiance, helps repair UV damage, diminishes fine lines, helps fade acne scars and protects your skin from environmental aggressors. Plus Vitamin C is an ingredient universally recommended by dermatologists/skincare experts.
The Skinfiltrator also pointed out that it contains Niacinamide - a form of B3. This is a super ingredient as it helps build keratin - aka a type of protein that promotes skin health and firmness. It also helps your skin retain moisture which is great, especially if you have mature or dehydrated skin.
And it contains Glycerin which also aids the skin to retain moisture and feel more hydrated. It is an emollient, too, which is great for softening skin.
All this and more for a mere £4 - it's the kind of bargain you dream of, right? It's also worth checking out the other products in the range, too, which are all £4.
What the reviews say
Thankfully, it's not just a dream, hence this incredible face cream is being snapped up as fast as Boots staff can get the stock on the shelves. You can still get your hands on it online, though, but don't delay.
With users commenting on how 'amazing' and 'gorgeous' this product is and how great their skin is when they use it, we can see why it has caused such a sensation.
"Wow! This face cream is AMAZING! This doubles up as a fabulous make-up primer, my make-up goes on so flawless after using this and allowing to be absorbed. My make-up has never looked so good. Highly recommend! Also the night face mask is incredible too!"
"Wouldn’t go back to using anything else! I’ve been using this cream for so long and it was my dirty little secret until somebody decided to announce how great it was on TikTok. Since then it’s been impossible to find in any Boots I’ve been to (in London)..."
"This cream is fantastic leaves my skin looking amazing!!"
"Gorgeous cream. This cream is really lovely, it's nicely moisturising but light and not cloying. The scent is fresh and apply, not overpowering, just right. I've [used] the Sleeping Mask in the same range which is also good but not moisturising enough for me so I layer the two when I use the mask. Great value, hope my local store restock soon as running out."
"Daughter loves this, says skin never felt or looked better. Lovely consistency."
