A boozed-up teen attacker kicked and punched police officers after becoming “annoyed” that they’d entered her home.

Millie Jackson became argumentative and obstructive when Cleveland Police officers were called to a Redcar property following reports of a domestic dispute. The 19-year-old lashed out at the emergency service workers and became a “dead weight on the floor” whilst officers were trying to make an arrest.

The Redcar woman pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating of an emergency worker on June 28. She appeared at Teesside Magistrates’ Court for sentencing on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Heather Blair outlined that police were called to reports of a “domestic dispute” at an address in Redcar. The court heard that Jackson refused two police officers entry to the home leading to them “forcing their way in”.

Ms Blair added that there was cause for an arrest of a male inside the property - but Jackson became “obstructive”. “The issue was they entered without a warrant,” the prosecutor said.

Jackson struck one officer to the face with her hand. Then after further arguments, Jackson became a “dead weight on the floor” as officers tried to move her.

She then kneed another officer to the head. The Middlesbrough court heard that Jackson used “substantial force” when striking the officer on the face and kicking another on the head. Ms Blair added that Jackson has one previous conviction for possession of a bladed article in 2023.

Mellissa Lilystone, mitigating, stated that her client was in an abusive relationship at the time of the offence and suffers from mental health issues. The defence solicitor added that she has shown remorse for her actions and has written letters to both officers apologising.

District Judge Steven Hood told the court that Jackson was “annoyed” at police and punched one officer in the face and kicked another in the face. He stated that Jackson was drinking a “significant amount of alcohol” at the time of the attack.

He handed Jackson an 18 month community order with 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and a six month alcohol treatment requirement. She must also complete 40 hours of unpaid work.

Jackson, of Troutbeck Road, Redcar, was also ordered to pay £100 to one police officer and £150 to another. She must also pay a £114 court surcharge.
