Boris Johnson remains “stable” in intensive care on Tuesday and has not required the use of a ventilator, Downing Street has said.

Cabinet Office minister Michael Gove – who described foreign secretary Dominic Raab as “the person who is running the country” – is now self-isolating at home after a family member began to display symptoms of the coronavirus.

World leaders have sent message of support to Mr Johnson, who was given oxygen and moved into an ICU at St Thomas’ hospital in London on Monday following a deterioration in his symptoms.
