Boris Johnson has taken part in a training session for MPs on sexual harassment and bullying he described as “most informative”.

The Prime Minister sat in on the two-hour course last Thursday, alongside Suella Braverman, the Attorney General, and Steve Barclay, the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

The course, named “Valuing Everyone”, was made compulsory for all MPs in the wake of the so-called “Pestminster” scandal, in which some high-profile politicians were accused of sexual assault, harassment and bullying.

Another person on the video call where the training took place told Sky News the Prime Minister described it as “most informative”, after sitting “very still throughout the whole thing, barely moving”.

“I was quite surprised to see the Prime Minister taking part, given everything he has to deal with at the moment: Covid, exams and so on,” the source said.

The session included a scenario involving a male employee who behaved inappropriately towards a young female employee, before sacking her.

The news that Mr Johnson had taken part in the training comes after a Freedom of Information request revealed he was one of 159 MPs who had completed it since it began in May 2019.

A Government spokesman said: “All cabinet ministers have either taken this important course or have made arrangements to do so.

"There is no place for bullying or harassment in society and the government supports the significant progress that has already been made to bring about meaningful change in parliament, including the introduction of Valuing Everyone training.”
