Borussia Dortmund will reportedly struggle to meet Manchester United's asking price for Jadon Sancho this summer.

Sancho has been on loan at the German club since January after a public fallout with Erik ten Hag last September. Following the defeat to Arsenal in the Premier League, the Dutchman was asked why his winger was not in the matchday squad for the game.

Ten Hag replied that Sancho's performances in training had cost him a place in the travelling team. The Englishman refuted this suggestion and claimed he had been made a 'scapegoat' by his manager on social media.

This post was deleted but Sancho refused to apologise leading to his exile and ultimately his exit in January. MEN Sport understands the working assumption is that he will leave, with Dortmund the favourites to sign him if he does depart.

However, Sky Sports Deutschland understands the asking price which United are demanding for Sancho is currently unrealistic. Talks are planned after next weekend's Champions League final but the Reds will need to lower their asking price to complete a deal.

Elsewhere, United have reportedly been joined by Liverpool in the race to sign Lille's Leny Yoro. The 18-year-old centre-back has been ever-present for the Ligue 1 club this season with 44 appearances to his name.

Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio (as quoted by Give Me Sport) claims the Merseyside club have entered the race 'forcefully' but will have to contend with competition from United and Real Madrid for his signature. United are on the hunt for a defender in the summer to replace the departing Raphael Varane.
