Botanic Gardens Belfast named as one of the UK's 'cleanest parks'

A Northern Irish park has been revealed as one of the cleanest in the UK.

A new study from bin manufacturers LitterBins.co.uk has shown that Botanic Gardens in Belfast has been ranked one of the cleanest UK parks to visit.

Coming in at number 6 on the list, behind winners Holyrood Park in Edinburgh and Telford Town Park, it is the only green space in Northern Ireland to make the top 10.

A spokesperson said: "With the October half-term around the corner, the experts at LitterBins wanted to discover the UK’s cleanest parks for families to visit this Autumn.

"The study analysed some of the UK’s most popular parks based on TripAdvisor reviews, Google reviews, and overall quality score."

They also analysed the area’s local dissatisfaction with rubbish disposal to reveal the UK’s cleanest parks.

Commenting on Botanic Gardens Belfast, they added: "The Gardens scored highly due to its high rating on Google scoring 4.6/5, as well as the local city having one of the lowest rates of dissatisfaction with garbage disposal in the study.

"Known for its stunning Victorian glasshouses and vibrant flower displays, it’s a favourite destination for both locals and tourists."
