Bournemouth Airport had the fewest cancelled flights in 2024.

Research using Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) statistics found that only 0.04 per cent of flights were cancelled between January and November 2024.

The average delay per flight was 17.5 minutes, which is around the average for the 18 major UK airports examined by AirAdvisor.

The CAA defines a cancelled flight as one that does not operate as planned, with the announcement made less than 24 hours before or after the scheduled departure time.

"Storms Isha and Jocelyn in January 2024 had a particularly damaging effect on air services across the UK, however, this wasn’t the case at Bournemouth Airport where no flights were cancelled at all."

Mr Radchenko also commended Bournemouth Airport and its partners for the reduction in cancellations and delays compared to 2023.

He encouraged passengers affected by cancellations to file claims as they could be entitled to up to £520 in compensation.
