A boutique hotel in Cambridge has opened its new restaurant to both guests staying on the premises and visitors wanting to drop in for a meal. The restaurant hopes to introduce "a fresh culinary concept" to Cambridge.

Gonville Kitchen, which opened on October 14, takes contemporary dishes from both Peruvian and Italian cuisine and turns them into small plates with 'a modern twist'. The curated cocktail and wine list makes it easy for guests to choose the ideal drink to accompany their food.

The restaurant's 'timeless' design makes Gonville Kitchen a nice place to relax and socialise with friends. The newly refurbished Atrium Bar offers guests a more laid back dining experience compared to Gonville Kitchen, which is more suitable for those who want privacy.

The Atrium Bar's menu has a range of classic cocktails and their own inventions including the Gonville Eton Mess and Burnt Breakfast Martini. The outdoor terrace looks out at Parker's Piece and can be used all throughout the year, as blankets and firepits are available during winter to keep diners warm.

Gonville Kitchen's menu features some familiar favourites such as tacos and different kinds of skewers, as well as their more innovative dishes like their robata-smoked paprika ribs. Some of the menu's items mix together both Peruvian and Italian cuisine to offer guests a more unusual dining experience.

The kitchen will be run by the restaurant's Head Chef, Cosmin Algea, who has spent the last four years working at Annabel's, a private members' club in London. He said: "I'm thrilled to join the Gonville Hotel team and bring the Gonville Kitchen vision to life. Our menu reflects a unique blend of Italian and Peruvian influences, which you will not find anywhere else in Cambridge. We’re combining bold flavours, fresh ingredients, and a creative approach to offer an unforgettable social dining experience."
