Boxing champ Chris Eubank rocks up at Plymouth's new M&S
A Plymouth man got a huge surprise when boxing's best-dressed former champ dropped by the city’s newest M&S store. Ex middleweight king Chris Eubank was spotted in the Derriford store yesterday (November 25).
Local man Martin Laughlin just happened to be shopping in the M&S yesterday afternoon after deciding to check out the new store for the first time. But as he was looking around, he spotted ring warrior Chris Eubank also doing some shopping.
Martin couldn't believe his eyes and walked around the shop “again and again” to make sure it was the boxing champ. When he spotted the yellow star on Chris’ often worn baseball cap, Martin was certain it was the middleweight legend - and he went over and said hello.

It comes after the star was spotted in Paignton harbour recently, delighting visitors as he stopped to pose for photos and sign autographs.
Martin said: "I went over to him and said are you Chris, he said yes, what’s your name - then shook my hand. You don’t often get to see someone that well known in your local food shop, it’s not everyday you meet someone famous. I was buzzing for the rest of the day.
“I did ask him why he was in Plymouth and he said that he could not give the reason. I spoke to him for a few minutes and found him to be really down to earth and such a genuine guy.
“No one else in the store recognised him, so when I asked him for a photo he said ‘no problem’ let’s step around the corner. He then shook my hand and said thank you.
“I was buzzing for the rest of the day, and still am. I’ve been telling everyone that I spoke to Chris Eubank. It’s not everyday you meet someone like him.”
It was about 14:50pm when Martin bumped into Chris in the M&S store at Derriford. The store only opened last week (November 20) and has been teeming with shoppers, however Martin doesn’t think anyone else recognised Chris in the store.
Chris was wearing a brown fleecy coat and his baseball cap with a yellow star on the front. The ex fighter is known for his well-spoken offbeat manner and is famed for epic ring battles with Nigel Benn in the 1990s.
