Boxing legend Chris Eubank dons bow tie as he starts career as police officer in Louisiana

Boxing legend Chris Eubank has swapped sport for law enforcement as he “proudly” starts his new job as a police officer in America.

The 52-year-old has been made a certified law enforcement marshal in Louisiana, and posted a video of himself at work on Twitter.

Mr Eubank wrote: “Sergeant Eubank proudly on duty in Louisiana. All warriors protect and serve, whether one wears a badge or not.”

In the video, the former sportsman spoke as he was at the scene of a car crash, while he donned a police uniform and bow tie.

Stood in the rain, he added: “I don’t have a raincoat like the rest of the officers, but it’s ok.”

While at the scene, a member of the public told Mr Eubank “I’ve never seen a cop with a tie before,” to which he replied “Yes, yes”.

Mr Eubank has recently been delivering lectures about peace in the US, particularly in the southern states.

The former super-middleweight champion received messages of support on his post.

One user wrote: “Simply the best…you can’t help but love him”.

While another wrote: “Love the bow tie”.
