BOXPARK has announced the launch of a new gaming centre to join their site at Croydon. Playbox is being billed as is the 'ultimate social gaming venue' and is set to open its doors this February 2025. The addition will bring some competition and live sports in a vibrant setting.

Spanning approximately 3,500 square feet, organisers hope Playbox will become the go-to spot for gaming in South London. Visitors can expect a mix of interactive games and classic entertainment, with features including a digital shuffleboard and darts, karaoke, traditional pool tables and retro arcade games, plus its own signature bar.

For sports enthusiasts, Playbox will offer pre-booked booth spaces, perfect for watching the biggest games in comfort. The venue will also cater to corporate and group events with tailored hire options and multi-game reservations.

"Playbox is about bringing people together through the shared joy of gaming and sports," says BOXPARK's Head of Operations, Linda Miles. "We’re thrilled to launch in BOXPARK Croydon, a hub of culture and community, and can’t wait to welcome guests into this fun, bold, and exciting new space.”

For revellers looking for a night out with friends, a unique spot to watch the game, or a memorable venue for their next event, Playbox may be worth a visit. BOXPARK launched two new sites last year, including BOXPARK Camden (see our review HERE) and BOXPARK Liverpool, which will be followed by the opening of their new concept later this year, named Boxhall.

Originally coined ‘the world's first pop up mall’, BOXPARK Shoreditch launched in 2010, fusing the concepts of the modern street food market and the pop-up retail mall. Now with five sites, four of them across London, Boxpark aims to deliver a community of 'independent and established brands specialising in fashion, arts, food and drinks'.

In most BOXPARK venues, the action takes place on multiple levels - with market stalls on the ground floor, plus dozens of food kiosks on the first and second floors, as well as ample-sized bars with an open-planned layout.
