Boy, 11, taken to hospital after being hit by car

A boy was taken to hospital after being hit by a car. Merseyside Police were called to Stoney Lane in Prescot at around 8.15am today, Monday, September 23.

It followed a report of a crash involving a Honda Civic and an 11-year-old boy pedestrian. A spokesperson for the force confirmed the schoolboy was taken to hospital for assessment of a leg injury - the extent of this injury is currently unknown.

Residents in the area said they saw police block off the road while the incident was dealt with by emergency services. The road was reopened at around 9.15am, a spokesperson for Merseyside Police confirmed.
