A 12-year-old boy has died after being seriously injured at an indoor ski centre in Tamworth.

It is not clear exactly how the boy was injured on Friday evening at the SnowDome in Staffordshire.

West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Police were both called to the scene at around 6.35pm but the boy died shortly after they arrived.

A man was also treated for injuries, police said.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "On arrival crews found a boy who had suffered very serious injuries.

"Staff worked on him providing advanced life support, but sadly, despite all of the efforts it was not possible to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene."

The Health and Safety Executive has been informed of the incident.

Police have asked people not to speculate about had happened or share images or footage.
