Boy, 5, in hospital after being hit by vehicle in Cambridge

A five-year-old Cambridge boy is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Cambridge on Sunday.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Queen Street E. and Flynn Avenue at 12:45 p.m. Sunday for reports a young pedestrian had been hit by a Toyota vehicle.

The boy was taken to an out-of-region hospital.

The 64-year-old Cambridge man who was driving the Toyota was not injured.

Queen Street E. was closed for several hours as police investigated.

Police say the investigation into what happened remains ongoing and officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage of it. People can report information to police or Crime Stoppers.
