(Google)A six-year-old boy was left with “life-changing” injuries after being hit by an HGV lorry at a petrol station in Leatherhead on Wednesday.
The child was with his family when he was struck outside the BP garage at the junction between the A245 Kingston Road and Randalls Road at around 5pm.
He was airlifted to hospital and has sustained serious injuries to his legs, although they are not thought to be life-threatening, police said.
The lorry driver stopped at the scene and has not been arrested.
Surrey Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward with information.
A spokesman said: “The A245 Kingston Road has been closed to traffic while specialist investigators work to understand the cause of the collision.
“We are keen to speak with everyone who saw or heard the collision - in particular anyone who was filling up at the BP petrol station, or has dash-cam or helmet-cam footage from the immediate area between 4.50pm and 5.10pm which may show the victim or HGV involved.
“We would ask that the public don't speculate on the cause of the collision and allow our specialist Serious Collision Investigation Unit officers to carry out their work.”
