Boy, five, savaged by XL Bully as police launch investigation

An investigation has been launched after a five-year-old boy was bitten by a dog.

The child is now receiving treatment in hospital for a head injury caused during the incident, which is said to have taken place on May 27 in Brazil Street in Hull at around 11.45am.

HullLive reports the dog has been seized.

In a statement, Humberside Police say that the boy suffered injuries to his head. He is currently in hospital receiving treatment.

Detective Chief Inspector Allison Sweeting said: “We are working closely with the boy’s family and the owner of the dog to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident.

“At this stage, the breed of dog is believed to be an XL bully type and it has been seized as part of our enquiries.”
