Boy George Attack Victim Slams The BBC For Star's Judge's Role

Audun Carlsen, a model and former escort, has spoken out against the BBC for giving Boy George a role as a judge in the upcoming series of The Voice despite the star being previously convicted for attacking him.

Back in 2009 Boy George was found guilty of false imprisonment after Audun claimed that he was kept shackled to a wall at the singer’s London home and tormented with a sex toy.

With the new series of The Voice kicking off next Saturday, Audun is understandably devastated by Boy George’s TV role, explaining: “The BBC should be ashamed of themselves for employing Boy George after everything he did to me.

"He shouldn’t be allowed to be a mentor they should axe him. He is a criminal who has been to prison.

"If a male celebrity beat up a woman with a chain, handcuffed her to a wall and threatened her with a sex toy, there would be a public outcry if he was given a high-profile job at the BBC.

"But because I am a gay man they think it’s OK. It’s outrageous.”

The 36-year-old added to The Sun that his life was ruined following the attack, and he has been in therapy for the last eight years.

He shared: “I thought I was moving on until I saw him on TV.

"I felt sick. It has put me back again. TV presenters are supposed to be role models and he clearly isn’t one. He has never once apologised or shown any hint of remorse.”

Audun moved from Norway to London in 2004 and went round to Boy George’s home in 2007 after meeting him on a gay dating website, however, he claims that the star called a friend who helped to get Audun in handcuffs, which left him fearing for his life.

He added: “They forced some kind of weird medieval-type handcuffs on me, dragged me along the floor and attached me with the handcuffs to a huge bolt on the wall.

"When I was attached they both hit me. Then George told his friend to leave. I have never been so frightened in my life.

"I was sure I wouldn’t get out of there alive. I often still think about what might have happened if I didn’t manage to get away.”

Audun described how he broke free in just his underwear and shoes and ran to a nearby shop where he was met with police who had to use a saw to free him from the cuffs.

Boy George was jailed for fifteen months for the attack but pleaded not guilty to the crime, although he did claim that Audun had stolen pictures from his computer, which Audun denied.

The BBC and The Voice declined to comment on the case.
