Boy George Calls Paloma Faith ‘Extremely Rude’ During The Voice Auditions

The Voice auditions are officially underway but, according to reports, things may not be all sunshine and lollipops between the judges.

While it’s not unusual for the coaches to get super competitive as they battle it out to mentor contestants, it seems things got a little too heated between Boy George and Paloma Faith in Manchester.

Eek.

The Mirror reports that their argument happened when Paloma pretended to fall asleep and snore during Boy George’s long pitch, as he tried to get one singer to join his team - a singer the former also wanted on her team.

While she passed it off as banter though, Boy George allegedly hit back, saying: “You said you weren’t going to be b*tchy and you’re being b*tchy.

“You’ve probably got PMT or something, you were extremely rude. If you choose Paloma she will probably fall asleep while you sing.”

Yikes.

According to The Daily Star, he also told her: “You’re a disgrace! Who are you? One hit in America doesn’t make you a star. I’ve sold over 150million records.”

The Mirror reports that she then responded: “I am really happy with what I have done and continue to progress, maybe I haven’t had as long in the game as George but hopefully one day I will.

“When I put my mind to something then I will win.”

Paloma then apparently started pulling faces to try and ‘ease the tension’, but Boy George simply replied: “Don’t give it if you can’t take it.”

The other judges were seemingly more than a little aware of the tension, with Will.I.Am telling the crowd: “That was super intense, I don’t think I want to go backstage any more, I’ll stay out here instead.”

Ricky, meanwhile, added: “The fires have been lit, here we go!”

Luckily, it seems what happens in the auditions stays in the auditions, with Boy George since tweeting: “Ha. Love you @Palomafaith it’s just ‘banter-mime!”

A spokesman has responded to the incident, saying: “All four coaches are fighting hard for the best talent on their teams. Competition and banter maybe lively on camera but professional rivalry is left at the studio door.

“We think viewers are going to love the genuine passion that our new line up brings to the Voice 2016.”

A source also admitted: “Boy George loves to speak his mind and he won’t hold back on The Voice.”

If you want to see all the drama, you’ll sadly have to wait until the show comes back on BBC1 next year.
