New Boy Kane Scores In Lithuania Rout

Harry Kane Set To Play For Under 21s In Summer

Harry Kane scored on his England debut less than two minutes after coming on in the 4-0 defeat of Lithuania at Wembley on Friday night.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker, who has scored 29 goals this season, headed England's fourth in the 73rd minute after replacing skipper Wayne Rooney.

England's fifth successive win in the Euro 2016 qualifiers enabled them to maintain their lead at the top of Group E.

They are six points clear of Slovenia and Switzerland, who also won on Friday and have nine points each.

Lithuania are fourth on six points, followed by Estonia on four and San Marino on one.

Rooney put England ahead in the sixth minute when he headed home his 47th international goal, taking him to within two of Bobby Charlton's all-time record of 49.

Danny Welbeck scored the second just before half time, with Raheem Sterling netting the third after 58 minutes. The simple tap-in was his first England goal.

One of the biggest cheers of the night, though, came when Kane was introduced from the bench.

"It's the start that I dreamed of," the 21-year-old told ITV Sport. "To see it come true is just amazing.

"It's all a bit of a blur at the moment but I'm delighted for the lads and the most important thing it to get the win."
