An “ashamed” boyfriend was caught with ‘his trousers around his ankles’ and on ‘all fours’ having sex in the street.

Mihai Stanescu has been left “ashamed” by his actions as the facts of the case were laid bare at Teesside Magistrates’ Court. The “inebriated” 35-year-old, and his girlfriend of “a couple of days”, thought that going down an alleyway, next to a Teesside primary school, “would be safe”.

But a Middlesbrough dad, who had just taken his son to school, was left speechless after witnessing the pair’s raunchy encounter "behind a bush". Stanescu pleaded guilty to outraging public decency on James Street, North Ormesby , Middlesbrough .

Prosecutor Lynne Dalton outlined that it was 9am on Thursday, September 19 when a dad walked past North Ormesby Primary Academy and witnessed Stanescu having sex with a woman. He heard “moaning”, along with male and female voices.

Ms Dalton added that the pair were in an alleyway next to the primary school. The court heard that the pair had “their trousers round their ankles” and the witness “couldn’t believe what he saw”.

He was “stunned, shocked and appalled” by the scenes, and walked home to call police. However, whilst on the phone he returned - only to find Stanescu and the female “on all fours still having sex”.

The witness began recording the incident for police evidence, stating that he was “literally speechless”. Moments later police arrived at the scene and the pair were arrested.

Stanescu stated that he was in the company of his girlfriend who he had been in a relationship with for “a couple of days”. He told police that he had been “kissing her” but “didn’t do anything else”.

During a police interview, he was shown the footage - recorded by the witness - and he claimed he “couldn’t see”. Later he shouted: “F****** hell” and confirmed it was him, Ms Dalton said. He also “repeated that he was sorry” to cops, the court heard. Stanescu has no previous convictions.

Neil Taylor, mitigating, stated that it was an “unusual case” and told the judge that Stanescu is “ashamed of what’s happened”. The court heard that the pair had “been drinking” and “things got the better of them”.

The defence solicitor added that in Stanescu’s ‘inebriated state he thought going down an alleyway would be safe’. District judge Marie Mallon ordered a pre-sentence report to be prepared. Stanescu, of Falmouth Street, Middlesbrough, will appear in court on November 15 for sentencing.
