The Boys spoilers to follow.

Last week, The Boys introduced one of the comic's most memorably weird supes: Love Sausage. Now, showrunner Eric Kripke and actor Laz Alonso have broken down the character's unforgettable – and completely NSFW – first scene.

During the show's most recent episode, entitled 'The Bloody Doors Off', the titular vigilantes travel to the Sage Grove Center, a sinister-seeming facility that is being used by Stormfront (Aya Cash) and The Seven retiree Lamplighter (Shawn Ashmore) to create new superhumans using Compound V.

Shortly after Mother's Milk (Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) break into the establishment though, all hell breaks loose and several of the patients run amok as they show off their unique new skills. In the ruckus, Vasilii Vorishikin aka Love Sausage (Criminal Minds' Andrew Jackson) demonstrates his appendage-lengthening abilities by trying to strangle MM... well... with it.

"Love Sausage came around reasonably late in the development of the script," Kripke explained to Entertainment Weekly. "We had a couple of the drafts written, but then we sometimes reach a point, as we did in this one, where we said, 'You know what? It's just not crazy enough. We're missing that moment that makes people say holy sh–.'"

"He's a giant Russian man with a huge dick – that's his story. The name is ridiculous and it's all so ridiculous," he continued, before admitting that the crew would have "long meetings" prior to shooting the episode that were dedicate to deciding how many veins would appear on the character's super-sized appendage.

"We spent 20 minutes on should it be circumcised. We arrived at, no, it should not be but I get paid to have these conversations."

Elsewhere in the interview, Alonso revealed that it was probably down to his co-star Karl Urban that MM became the target of Love Sausage's wrath, due to the fact that such a sequence didn't appear in the episode's initial script.

"One day in the makeup trailer, Karl is like, 'You ready for that penis that's going around your neck?' And I'm like, 'Ain't no way in the world there is a penis being wrapped around my neck,'" he recalled. "I let my curiosity get the best of me and when I see that [in the new script], I'm like, 'Oh my God. Karl is definitely behind this.'

"I am almost positive to this day he just pitched that idea to Kripke and Kripke with his sick sense of humor was like, 'It's great! Let's do it!'"

The Boys season two dropped on Amazon Prime Video on September 4 with episodes 1-3. It's now continuing weekly, with each new episode being uploaded every Friday.
