The Boys season 2 episode 7 spoilers follow.
Episode seven of The Boys' second season might have been a pretty violent bloodbath, but for Becca Butcher, it was much worse than that.
After Stormfront admitted she was feeling a bit broody, Homelander took her to meet his son Ryan, much to Becca's discomfort – but she allows them to hang out.
Over the course of the episode the pair spend more and more time at Becca's house, and she tells Homelander that she wants to give Ryan a better childhood than he had.
However, he and Stormfront take Ryan away – and in an exclusive chat with Digital Spy, Shantel VanSanten, who plays Becca, admitted that with Stormfront around, Becca felt less able to stand up to Homelander.
"It was so much fun to play, because I'd only gotten the chance to really work with Tony and Karl. [So to] play with another woman and to play with Aya who's a force and she's incredible in the role of Stormfront but also terrifying..." she said.
"So now I basically have two Homelanders and you know, I think that Becca had this amazing ability to stand up and have leverage with Homelander – and the minute that she came around, that felt stripped away."
Shantel revealed that there's definitely more to come from Becca, and she is planning to fight for Ryan.
"She became even more vulnerable and obviously going into the last half of this season, if we thought that Becca was a fighter to begin with... she's a momma bear, you know what I mean, she's not going to give up everything that she sacrificed her entire life for and just walk away from this," she added.
"She's not going to allow, if you will, the bad guy to win. That's not how she would ever go out."
