Brad Pitt ‘investigated over child abuse claims’

The fallout from the Brangelina split just gets more and more alarming.

According to US gossip site TMZ, Brad Pitt is now being investigated by police over reports he was “verbally abusive and physical with his children” on a private jet.

The website, which first broke the news of the couple’s divorce to the world earlier in the week, now alleges that 52-year-old Brad was “wasted” on the flight last Wednesday. He apparently started screaming, before continuing the rant on the runway once the plane had landed.

TMZ claims that the alleged episode prompted 41-year-old Angelina to file for divorce from the actor the following day.

Sources claim that Brad is under investigation by the LAPD and LA County department of Children and Family Services. It’s alleged that both Brad and Angelina have been interviewed as part of the police probe, and the authorities also plan to speak to the couple’s six children.

“[Brad] takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children,” said an insider. “It’s unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.”

TMZ has also claimed that the couple split over Pitt’s consumption of marijuana and booze, along with what Jolie believes is an “anger problem” affecting the star’s ability to properly raise his kids.
