It's 2020 and yet it may as well be 2003 with news cycles buzzing about Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston's chemistry at the Screen Actor's Guild awards last night. The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood actor is having something of a moment this awards season. Not a McConnaissance-style switch from making bad movies to brilliant movies, but rather a gentle return to the celebrity fold. The Santa Ana winds are whispering "Brad Pitt is back", as proved by his run of speeches while collecting awards.

Earlier this month at the Golden Globes, Pitt joked to co-star Leonardo DiCaprio that “I would’ve shared the raft”, in reference to DiCaprio's character in Titanic being left to drown. A joke that even caused Serious Resting Face LDC to crack a smile.

Pitt hit another home run with his acceptance speech for Best Supporting Actor at the SAG Awards last night. After generously thanking his co-stars and fellow actors in the room, he discussed director Tarantino's foot fetish – which makes its way into all of his movies – namechecking Margot Robbie's feet, Margaret Qualley's feet and Dakota Fanning's feet as stars he was humbled to have worked alongside.

"Quentin has separated more women from their shoes than the TSA," he added, to much laughter.

"Let's be honest it was a difficult part," he added, referring to his role as stuntman Cliff Booth. "A guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn't get on with his wife. It's a big stretch, it's big."

He went on to speak about the community of actors in Hollywood and the ridiculous nature of the job, saying, "We know funny and we bring that to the screen." A sentiment that extends to Pitt, as he continues to bring down the house this award season run.

As one Twitter user commented, "Is it too late for him to host the Oscars?"
