It isn’t known exactly why Angelina filed the legal papers, but rumours are rife that they came following an “incident”, which occurred last week.
An insider added: “The final divorce decision was only made one week ago. An incident took place and prompted Angelina to act and file.”
The Hollywood actress cited “irreconcilable differences” on her divorce papers and is not seeking spousal support. It is also understood that she is filing for sole physical custody of her and Brad’s six children, but is allowing the star visitation access.
Speaking to People magazine, a source claimed that Brad has always been the “stricter” parent, and Ang was growing increasingly frustrated with his parenting.
They shared: “Brad has always been stricter. He has wanted the kids to have more structure.
“Brad will get frustrated sometimes and yell at the kids. Angelina always had a more relaxed attitude when it came to the kids. She definitely never yells.”
Angelina’s manager, Geyer Kosinki, added that she feels divorce is in the best interest of the children, 15-year-old Maddox, 12-year-old Pax, 11-year-old Zahara, 10-year-old Shiloh, who also goes by the name of John, and eight-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox.
Kosinki said in a statement: “Angelina is doing what’s best in the interest of taking care of her children. She appreciates everyone’s understanding of their need for privacy at this time.”
Brad has also expressed that his children’s privacy is his main priority at this difficult time.
