Yahoo News Brainy London schoolboy wows nation with perfect showing on Channel 4's Child Genius
A London schoolboy with an IQ higher than Albert Einstein has wowed the nation with his answers on Channel 4’s Child Genius.
Rahul, a 12-year-old schoolboy from Barnet, scored 100 per cent when he appeared on the popular TV show on Monday night, which quizzes the nation’s brainiest youngsters.
His father Minesh could be seen nervously muttering “come on” as Rahul paused before answers while his mother anxiously watched on.
The 12-year-old answered questions on how to spell complex words such as algorithm, as well as scoring 14 out of 14 on a memory test requiring the youngsters to remember 240 facts about fruit and veg.
Rahul ran out of time before he could answer his final question, but scored 100 per cent in all the rounds.
Numerous people took to social media to praise the youngster’s remarkable answers, while others criticised his parents for being pushy.
Some mocked his father Minesh for calling himself an “overachiever like his son” because he played table tennis at Barnet Council.

Speaking from their family home, he said: “We are here to win, there are no two ways about that.”
The programme has sparked criticism for the behaviour of some of the parents, which some people have branded a form of “child abuse” in past series.
Rahul, whose family name was not revealed on the programme, has an IQ score of 162, putting him in the top 2 per cent of the UK population and trumping Einstein.
Host Richard Osman was left amazed by his answers, briefly appearing speechless at one point before declaring “I like your style”.

Rahul told the programme: “Yes, I think I am a genius, I am good at maths, general knowledge and I find it quite easy to memorise stuff compared to my peers.
“Most kids want immediate gratification but I also want long term gratification.
“If I could play maybe my Xbox now I would be really happy now but then I might be sad later on because I haven’t revised for my test.”
Child Genius continues every night on channel 4 this week at 8pm, with the final on Saturday night.
