Brass Monkey Beer Boutique: Teesside trio open bottle shop and taproom in Stokesley
A popular Teesside craft beer bottle shop and taproom has expanded.
Brass Monkey Beer Boutique, which has a store in Guisborough, has now opened its doors in Stokesley. The second location promises “something for everyone” with around 100 craft beers, ales, German lagers, small batch spirits, natural wines and cocktails.
All drinks are all available to sit in or take away. Owner Danny McCluskey, who has embarked on the venture with brother Jamie and friend Jon Harrison, said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to Brass Monkey Stokesley and show everyone what we’ve been working on. Expect everything people love at our flagship Guisborough shop, plus a couple of extras to give the Stokesley shop its own personality.

“We love what we do. Being able to showcase outstanding beers from all around the world, and supporting so many local breweries and small businesses is all part of the fibre of Brass Monkey and we look forward to helping people find their new favourites.”
The owners say that Brass Monkey is all about “good beer, good tunes and good people”. The new Stokesley store on High Street, which has undergone a complete transformation, opened on Friday, October 25 and will be open seven days a week.
Those visiting Brass Monkey Stokesley can enjoy their drinks alongside their famous snack selection, all while playing a board game or choosing an album to play on the record player upstairs.
Danny transformed the old McColl's newsagents on Westgate , Guisborough, into Brass Monkey Beer Boutique, bringing his "favourite parts" of living in London back home. The venue opened in December 2021 after he moved back up north during the pandemic, after years in the big smoke.
