An adventure loving dog is lucky to be alive after he fell from a Lancashire beauty spot.

Bronson, a four-year-old silver labrador, suffered severe injuries when he fell during his walk at Darwen Tower. Now, the brave family pet is recovering at home after undergoing surgery to get him back on his paws - but he still has a long road to recovery.

His owners, Ffion Segal and Ben Eccles, moved into their first home six months ago and were delighted to start their new life with Bronson by their side. However following his accident, they faced vet bills of more than £5,000 for Bronson's specialist orthopaedic surgery at the School of Veterinary Science at Liverpool University.

They were unprepared for the large bill they faced but vowed they would do whatever they could to nurse their brave pup back to full health. Taking to GoFundMe, Ben said: "Bronson has been my girlfriend’s family dog ever since he was a puppy.

"He’s now become a huge part of our very own little family. He’s full of energy, loves going on adventures, and is always getting himself into some sort of mischief—hence the name, Bronson. Recently, his love for adventure took a turn for the worse.

"While it’s a miracle that he survived, the accident left him in a lot of pain in his two front legs, and he now requires urgent orthopedic surgery to get him back on his paws. Without it, he’ll continue to be in pain and unable to live the active, happy life he once enjoyed.

"The surgery alone is estimated to cost around £6,000, and this doesn’t even include follow-up treatments like laser therapy or physiotherapy, which Bronson will likely need to make a full recovery. We are asking for any help at all to help us reach this fundraising goal so we can cover the surgery and begin the road to recovery for our brave little boy."

Bronson has now had his surgery, thanks to generous supporters who have helped raise more than £5,000 towards Bronson's care. However he still needs follow up care.

In an update posted this week, Ben said: "We’re so happy to share that Bronson is finally back home with us after a successful surgery and it’s all thanks to you guys!! We really couldn’t have done it without all your support. Our focus is now on helping our boy on his road to recovery so we can get him back to his usual happy, and adventurous self! Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving him this chance to heal!" To donate to the fundraiser, visit GoFundMe here.
