Brazen burglar ransacks home in Torquay while resident was inside

Police have released an image of a man they would like to identify after a brazen burglary in Torquay. A property along Babbacombe Road was broken into around midnight on Thursday, August 8.

A man entered the house while the occupant was inside. The thief took a passport, bank cards and a musical instrument and its case, police have said.

Officers would like to speak to the man pictured as they believe he may be able to assist with the ongoing enquiries. The man was seen wearing a white t-shirt, black cap and black trousers and shoes.

A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police are seeking the public’s help to identify this man following a burglary in Torquay. The burglary took place at a property on Babbacombe Road in Torquay at around midnight on Thursday 8 August.

"It was reported that a man entered a residential property while its occupant was inside and stole a passport, bank cards and a musical instrument and its case. Officers investigating the burglary would like to speak to the man pictured as it is believed he may be able to help with enquiries.

"We are aware the quality of the image is low but it is all we have available at present. Anybody with information is asked to contact police on 101 or via our website quoting 50240198788".
