Brazen Edinburgh thief caught on camera 'swiping parcel from home' in broad daylight
A brazen Edinburgh thief has been caught on camera "swiping" a parcel from outside somebody's home in broad daylight.
The incident took place just before noon on September 26, at a property on South Gyle Mains. Ring doorbell footage captures the man approaching the property and walking up the steps to the front door.
He then lifts the parcel before fleeing the scene. A similar camera at the front of the property overlooking the car park captures the man walking off with the parcel under his arm, reports Edinburgh Live.

The resident also claims it is not the first time a parcel has been snatched from his doorstep and took to Facebook in a bid to warn others and track the suspect down.
In June 2024 a similar incident took place when a man was allegedly caught stealing £400 worth of birthday presents from a local mum's front door. The resident, on Abbey Lane, said she purchased the gifts for his mum's 80th birthday.
Footage showed the brazen figure appearing in the building wearing a dark jacket and blue jeans before he approached the front door of the home. He appeared to have a bag in his hand and the resident claims another neighbour unwittingly buzzed him into the building before he "made off" with the goods.
