Brazil police accuse US swimmers of false testimony and vandalism

The head of Rio de Janeiro’s civil police, Fernando Veloso, says “theoretically” charges could be pressed against a group of four US swimmers, including gold medallists Ryan Lochte and Jimmy Feigen, for vandalism and false testimony. The swimmers said they been robbed by gunmen impersonating police officers in the early hours of Sunday which Veloso denies. Veloso confirms that a gun was pointed at the group, but syas it was because the security guard at the petrol station was worried by the group’s erratic behaviour
