Brazil's Indigenous People Protest Demarcation of Land

Indigenous protesters gathered outside Brazil’s National Congress in the capital Brasilia on Tuesday, April 25.

Demonstrators from various indigenous groups protested President Michel Temer’s government for taking over indigenous lands in the Amazon for “ranchers and other big-money interest,” according to AP.

The demonstration turned violent as police fired tear gas and rubber bullets, while protesters responded with spears and arrows. No injuries were reported, Globo reported. Credit: Instagram/talitha_kumis via Storyful
