When this baby’s mother went for a spray tan at her local beauty salon, she probably didn’t expect it to turn viral. The story, that is!

Learning the hard way, of the ‘dangers’ of breastfeeding ‘too soon’ after being tanned, Gemma Colley from Leeds accidentally ended up with a ‘Tango-ed’ baby.

The baby’s face turned orange, despite her waiting a few hours for the product to dry. She thought enough time had passed and that it would be okay to breastfeed her son, but the pictures show otherwise!

Gemma shared a photograph of him - complete with ‘tanned’ mouth, nose and chin - on her Facebook blog, The Unmumsy Mum, with the comment ‘epic fail of fails’.

She posted: “Yesterday I had a spray tan, a few hours later I breastfed my little boy. Cue 5 o’clock shadow and a very guilty mummy.”

Her post received more than 1,000 likes and was shared more than 23,000 times in 17 hours.

No harm was done and his colour returned to normal, after the tan wore off.

Gemma returned to the blog to share new pictures of her young boy looking just like his ‘old’ self.

She wrote: “Photo evidence that tonight’s feed was much less orange.

“Thanks for all the positive comments. I’m just another mummy trying to shed light on the adventures and misadventures of being a parent.”

Experts recommend mothers express breast milk, if possible, prior to having spray tans applied - so that babies can be fed while the product dries.
