Breathe easy: Woman has bullet removed from her nose - after it was lodged there for 48 YEARS
A woman can finally breathe easily as doctors removed a bullet from her head - after it had been lodged there for a suspected 48 years.
The Chinese woman, known only as 'Zhao', went to hospital recently due to chronic rhinitis, a condition which typically involves sneezing, and a blocked, itchy, and runny nose.
She said: 'My nose was always having pus, but for the last 10 years, I've had breathing difficulties and headaches, which made me suffer a lot.'
CAT scans revealed that there was a metal item in her nostril, and after doctors used an endoscope to remove it, they were shocked to discover that the object was actually a bullet.
Zhao believes she was actually shot 48 years ago. 'It was in 1967 when I was only 14. I was walking on the footpath and suddenly felt a sharp pain on my right temple. I thought I was hit by a pebble and there was blood,' she said.
At home her family simply cleaned and bandaged the wound, and after it eventually close up everyone forgot all about it.
