The Breathtaking Finalists Of The Wildlife Photographer Of The Year Competition

The finalists for the 2016 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition have been announced, showing the world’s very best nature photography.

From a greedy hornbill to a darting bat, each picture shows an arresting moment that perfectly captures a tiny part of Planet Earth’s dazzling diversity.

This year’s competition attracted more than 50,000 astonishing entries from professional and amateur snappers, to be judged by a panel of international experts.

The 52nd Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition will open at London’s Natural History Museum on Friday October 21.
