Set in the beach paradise that is 1980s San Diego, idyllic on the surface yet fragile underneath, Sheila appears as a dutiful, though quietly tortured housewife, which puts taking care of her family before her own needs and desires.

Her controversial husband (played by Superstore's Rory Scovel) receives her full support as he makes a bid for state assembly, while in her head she reveals herself to be more opinionated and sharp than she lets on.

To support his campaign, Sheila has to find employment and manages to turn her newfound passion for aerobics into a booming business with the burgeoning technology of videotape.
