Bridge closed after being hit by car as bus diversion put in place
A bridge in Warwickshire has been forced to close after being hit by car. Bidford Bridge has been closed in both directions, from High Street to Welford Road.
Warwickshire County Council has said that this has been caused by the 'impact of a car'. According to traffic website Inrix, the incidednt happened on Saturday (August 10).
It has added that the bridge is waiting structural assessment. As a result of the closure, there is a diversion in place for bus service 247.

In a post on X, Warwickshire County Council explained: "Bidford-on-Avon Bridge closed to all vehicles after the structure was damaged by impact from car. Signed diversion in place.
"Access still available to pedestrians and cyclists and car parks (north and south of bridge) open to support access to local businesses."
