'Bridgerton' leads the TV Choice Awards 2022 nominations with three nods.

The hit Netflix period drama is going up against 'Outlander', 'Death In Paradise' and 'All Creatures Great And Small' for the title of Best Drama Series, while leading stars Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley face competition from the likes of 'Peaky Blinders' star Cillian Murphy and Killing Eve's Jodie Comer for Best Actor and Best Actress respectively.

The ceremony - which is organised by the TV listings magazine of the same name and is voted for by the viewing public - is to take place in person for the first time in three years in November after COVID-19 restrictions forced the event to take place virtually last year.

Comedienne Jo Brand, 65, will take centre stage as host for the evening.

She said: "I am, as always, really looking forward to the great evening of The TV Choice Awards 2022. It's always a lively event, and yes, that is a euphemism!"

Elsewhere in the shortlist, 'Vera' star Brenda Blethyn is up for Best Comedy Performance for her role as cafe worker Kate in 'Kate and Koji', but she will go head-to-head with former 'The Office' star Ricky Gervais for his performance in 'After Life', Lee Mack in 'Not Going Out', and Siobhán McSweeney for her role as belligerent Sister Michaels in 'Derry Girls.'

ITV2 megahit 'Love Island' - which recently saw Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti crowned as the latest winners of the dating show - is up for Best Reality Show against 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!', 'Freeze The Fear With Wim Hof' and 'Pilgrimage: The Road To The Scottish Isles', while Channel 4 telly-watching show 'Gogglebox' is up against BBC late-night chat show 'The Graham Norton Show' and 'Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway' as well as 'The 1% Club' for Best Entertainment Show.

When it comes to the soaps, ITV flagships 'Emmerdale' and 'Coronation Street' will face off against BBC rival 'EastEnders' as well as Channel 5's former Australian soap 'Neighbours', which came to an end last month after more than three decades on the air.

Daytime favourites 'This Morning' and 'Steph's Packed Lunch' have been pitted against rival teatime game shows 'Pointless' and 'The Chase' for the title of Best Game Show, while 'Britain's Got Talent', 'The Masked Singer', 'Strictly Come Dancing', and all variations of 'The Great British Bake Off' are up for the accolade of Best Talent Show.

Shortlist voting is open now until midnight on 19 August at https://awards.tvchoicemagazine.co.uk/
